Welcome to another Fan Art Friday! Today we're celebrating the most beloved Great Dane in animated television, Scooby-Doo. This year marks 15 years since the premiere of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated (April 5, 2010), and 56 years since the franchise began in the late 1960s . Scooby-Doo was created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, animators who co-founded Hanna-Barbera Productions, the animation studio responsible for creating highly popular cartoons such as Tom and Jerry, The Huckleberry Hound Show, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, and, of course, Scooby-Doo. The first series (Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!) premiered on September 13, 1969, on CBS (Columbia Broadcasting System). It was the result of plans by CBS and Hanna-Barbera to create a non-violent Saturday morning show that would appease the parent watch groups that had protested the superhero-based programs of the mid-1960s. The plot follows Scooby-Doo (a Great Dane) and four teenagers, Fred Jones, Daphne Blake
