Nudity!
Remakes of successful movies are often met with dislike, but in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Swedish movie based on
Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy, I am all for it. Unfortunately, I fear that in the end Hollywood producers won't stick to the original screenplay and will cut the slightly controversial sex scenes from the movie.
Reading an article about the casting for the leading female role confirmed my fears. When
Scarlett Johansson was freaked with the nude scenes in the movie, director David Fincher was more than willing to make a few cuts in the script for her.
Luckily the lead role went to
Rooney Mara in the end and, hopefully, the cutting of the nude scenes won't be necessary.
Another thing that looks interesting is the list of actresses auditioning for the role.
Natalie Portman,
Ellen Page,
Mia Wasikowska and
Emily Browning also auditioned for the lead role, which would imply that they don't have problems with nudity and might strip for on the big screen in the future.
